Pomeranian Club Charlotte

Submitted by brendon on Tue, 02/24/2009 - 15:14.

So the wifey wants me to put together a club for Pomeranian owners in Charlotte, NC to network. Not sure I will actually put one together, but perhaps they could sift their way through this site. Pomeranian owners in Charlotte, NC should post some comments, which my wife and Pom, Julius, would reply to. Who knows, maybe we'll get enough together for a day in the park with all the Poms. Or maybe we could take the Pomeranians to "yappy happy" hour here in Charlotte, NC.

Good luck!

40 Days Without Beer - Day 34

Submitted by brendon on Mon, 04/06/2009 - 12:21.

So... thirsty....

The worst part about not drinking beer is going out to watch games. The NCAA basketball tournament is a perfect example of this situation. Watching the tar heels trounce Villanova while sipping on red wine just isn't the same.

I'm almost there though... this Sunday is Easter, and I will have proven to myself that I can live without beer.

Quant 2 final

Submitted by brendon on Wed, 04/01/2009 - 20:54.

I'm still walking funny. That final sucked! Seriously... I walked into that final feeling fairly confident that I had absorbed the lessons taught in class. I felt prepared. Four questions, three hours, open book, open notebook. I think I got one total answer... the rest... airballs... seriously. I hope I don't fail the entire class because of that.

40 Days Without Beer - Day 7

Submitted by brendon on Wed, 03/04/2009 - 18:35.

A typical work day for me starts when the alarm buzzes at 6:45am. I like to eat first, so I don't have to go up and down the stairs an extra trip after my shower to brush my teeth. After the shower and shave, I'm off to work. Takes me anywhere from 12 to 24 minutes commute on the way in... closer to 20+ today thanks to an old lady in a Geo Metro who decided to drive less than the posted speed limit of 35mph.

Lent begins - 40 days without beer!

Submitted by brendon on Wed, 02/25/2009 - 14:10.

Anyone who may read this already knows that I like my beer. I like beer after work, I like beer before work. I like beer at lunch, and I also like beer at brunch (gotta be noon somewhere, right?). I like beer after wine, I like beer as I dine, I like beer pretty much anywhere you can find. Beer may be nice, but beer is a vice, which is why I'm going to try to give it up.

Paid for checking your bags? Airlines are encouraging your rage.

Submitted by brendon on Wed, 12/17/2008 - 01:41.

From a corporate airline's front office come magnificent ideas to increase their companies net value. Making customers pay to check bags is a great idea for the corporation, and here's why.

Checking a bag used to be the way people would send home Christmas gifts. College students would check monstrous bags full of filthy laundry. Bands could travel. Everyone took advantage of this courtesy mostly because they got used to its luxury. This caused the airlines to employ more people at the gates to deplane the luggage, drive those golf cart baggage trucks, and operate the conveyor belts.

In a corporate office metropolis, an old timer named Fred thought of a great idea.
"I'll charge 'em for checkin' bags. Fifteen bucks a pop!"
